Civil War Study Group Board and founding member Bob Johnson shared how transcription of the Civil War diary of an ancestor (Aquila Johnson) led to a deep dive into genealogical research. The handout document has links. The transcript of his ancestor’s diary, accomplished to a large extent by the efforts of Bob’s wife Marie, is also included for your viewing, as it includes a useful insight into day to day life in the Confederate army!
